Syntax of Paradox

Syntax of Paradox is not a band. It is a procession of masks.

Each release introduces a new face — sometimes a voice, sometimes a silhouette, sometimes only a contact sheet found in a drawer that may or may not exist. Behind every mask is the same consciousness, returning to the same questions: what survives when the self is forbidden, and what is invented when the self is finally allowed to speak?

The project draws its grammar from histories where identity had to be hidden in order to live: Polari, coded letters, blurred photographs, double meanings, the queer cinematic frame that says one thing to the censor and another to the lover in the next seat. To listen to Syntax of Paradox is to be handed a key whose lock has not yet been built.

The releases are titled like clauses — First Movement, Paradox I—IV, A Letter Folded Twice — because the project understands itself as a sentence still being written. Contradiction is not a flaw here. Contradiction is the syntax.
